Be careful what you say!

Recommended Posts

According to a new report - If you regularly send e-mail replies to your work colleagues or ever posted a comment on a public message board, your chances are no better than 50-50 of it being interpreted correctly - even though the writer believes he or she has correctly ascertained the tone of the e-mails or comments to which they are responding 80 percent of the time.

You know how easily e-mails can be misinterpreted, but you may not understand why. Chalk it up to egocentricity.

Since people tend to be egocentric - that is to say, they assume others experience things the same way they do - they may make the assumption that what they write will be interpreted exactly as they meant it.

But one thing an e-mail can't do well at all is convey emotions.

You may have a good relationship with a co-worker, but without the physical, verbal and emotional cues that come from a face-to-face conversation - tone of voice or facial expressions, the real intent of the message can get mangled and misinterpreted.

A recent study showed that your chances are no better than 50-50 of having your e-mail interpreted correctly, although most people believe that they are conveying their message clearly 80 percent of the time.

Perhaps, the best way to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and confrontations -- especially when the ongoing written conversation gets heated - would be to take a short empathy break to get some perspective.

Just something to think about.

Love,

Miss Lavish xx

My Dearest VickyGirl,

I know another game we could play - Although this one might make one's tongue ache!

PS Now we know that our tame, little Welsh dragon (Poison) bats for the other team, perhaps she might care to join us in a spot of mutual tongue lashing?

(I understand that she has a very pleasant and plump pussy which responds to the gentlest of caresses!)

Meow!

My soup is getting cold!

Who said I haven't had any side effects? Again, I don't know why you're involved in this, or rather on their side, when you're on this forum just to have fun. You don't even have Hyperhidrosis or been through ETS.

you are not a doctor, so how about just being neutral when it comes to ets? it's a major operation but you refer just to your own isolated case when making recommendations. that's not serious, you lack multiple and reliable sources. shame on you!!!

He never said he was a doctor. This is a "discussion forum," and obviously he is talking about his own individual case. That's what everyone does on here - they talk about their case, and how they feel about it. If people didn't discuss their own case, then we wouldn't know anything. We would be stifling information. Sorta like a dictatorship. All negative posts allowed, all positive posters should remain neutral, and keep quiet, lest they upset someone.

In my opinion, all information - good or bad - should be out here to read.

So many double standards. And when did I recommend ETS to everyone? Obviously, I've always said I don't think ETS works for facial blushing or is worth the trouble for people who only suffer from axillary. I hope you're having fun mickeymouse because I don't really know why, out of all people, I have to argue with you now.
