What Are You Listening To At The Moment?

Recommended Posts

I Am The Walrus........The Beatles

I am he

As you are he

As you are me

And we are all together.

See how they run

Like pigs from a gun

See how they fly. I’m crying.

Sitting on a cornflake - waiting for the van to come.

Sam Stone......John Prine

Sam Stone came home,

To his wife and family

After serving in the conflict overseas.

And the time that he served,

Had shattered all his nerves,

And left a little shrapnel in his knee.

But the morphine eased the pain,

And the grass grew round his brain,

And gave him all the confidence he lacked,

With a Purple Heart and a monkey on his back.

Now...I'm in a Beatle kind of mood. 8)

Hey, Jude, don't be afraid

You were made to go out and get her

The minute you let her under your skin

Then you begin to make it better.

And any time you feel the pain, hey, Jude, refrain

Don't carry the world upon your shoulders

For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool

By making his world a little colder...

(I LOVE this song!!) :D

Ah, you have good taste, VickyGirl! I'm also in a Beatles state of mind.

She Came in Through the Bathroom Window.......The Beatles

Oh look out

She came in through the bathroom window,

Protected by a silver spoon

But now she sucks her thumb and wonders

By the banks of her own lagoon

Didn’t anybody tell her

Didn’t anybody see

Sundays on the phone to Monday

Tuesdays on the phone to me....

you say you want a revolution

well you know

we all want to change the world

you tell me that it's evolution

well you know

we all want to change the world

but when you talk about destruction

don't you know you can count me out

don't you know it's gonna be alright

alright alright

Hotel California........The Eagles

On a dark desert highway

Cool wind in my hair

Warm smell of colitas

Rising up through the air

Up ahead in the distance

I saw a shimmering light

My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim

I had to stop for the night

Im actually listening to a few tracks from a new album by an electronic artist called BT. He's famous for being a big innovator in dance music, but this new release is more like filmscore meets ambient meets glitch. Some very cool tracks, right up my street.

:o Yes!

There she stood in the doorway;

I heard the mission bell

And I was thinking to myself,

’this could be heaven or this could be hell’

Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way

There were voices down the corridor,

I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the hotel california

Such a lovely place

Such a lovely face

Plenty of room at the hotel california

Any time of year, you can find it here.

I NEVER got the hang on this on the guitar...either I sing it or I play it, but never both...arghh!

You have excellent taste in music, VickyGirl. I love that entire album.

Captain Jack.......Billy Joel (on a tinny little radio here at work)

Saturday night and you're still hangin' around

You're tired of livin' in your one horse town

You'd like to find a little hole in the ground for a while

So you go to the village in your tie-dye jeans

And you stare at the junkies and the closet queens

It's like some pornographic magazine, and you smile

Monterey........Eric Burden & The Animals

The people came and listened

Some of them came and played

Others gave flowers away

Yes they did yeah!

Down in Monterey

Down in Monterey

Young gods smiled upon the crowd

Their music being born of love

Children danced night and day

Religion was being born

Down in Monterey

The Byrds and the Airplane

Did fly

Oh, Ravi Shankar's

Music made me cry

The Who exploded

Into fired light (yeah)

Hugh Masekelas music

Was black as night

The Grateful Dead

Blew everybody's mind

Jimi Hendrix, baby

Believe me

Set the world on fire, yeah!

His majesty

Brian Jones smiled as he

Moved among the crowd

Ten thousand electric guitars

Were groovin' real loud, yeah

If you wanna find the truth in life

Don't pass music by

And you know

I would not lie

No, I would not lie

No, I would not lie

Down in Monterey

Hu! huh-huh!

Alright!

Its a pity you dont support the Villa, looks like we are set to have a blinder

BB

Well I'm a Bristol Rovers fan, so if we have a blinder this season, then that means that our temporary 'Tent- like stand' has not blow away!!! :D

Ps....great result for the villa in north london at the weekend, but how did you get on in midweek, I've not seen your result?

Indeed! Its seems that O'Neill might be just what we needed. The Villa have been such a disappointing team to support over recent years that its about time got a break.

We managed to get a win against Reading, so all's good!

"Well I'm a Bristol Rovers fan, so if we have a blinder this season, then that means that our temporary 'Tent- like stand' has not blow away!!!"

Haha. Well, you never know when you're break may come. If you'd have told me a few seasons back that Wigan would be a Premiership force Id have said you talking bollocks. But yet there they are!

I shall have fingers crossed for ya

 Sometimes a song expresses your thoughts perfectly!

"Whenever, Wherever" (Shakira)

Lucky you were born that far away so

We could both make fun of distance

Lucky that I love a foreign land for

The lucky fact of your existence

Baby I would climb the Andes solely

To count the freckles on your body

Never could imagine there were only

Ten Million ways to love somebody

Le ro lo le lo le, Le ro lo le lo le

Can't you see

I'm at your feet

Whenever, wherever

We're meant to be together

I'll be there and you'll be near

And that's the deal my dear

Thereover, hereunder

You'll never have to wonder

We can always play by ear

But that's the deal my dear

Lucky that my lips not only mumble

They spill kisses like a fountain

Lucky that my breasts are small and humble

So you don't confuse them with mountains

Lucky I have strong legs like my mother

To run for cover when I need it

And these two eyes that for no other

The day you leave will cry a river

Le ro le le lo le, Le ro le le lo le

At your feet

I'm at your feet

Whenever, wherever

We're meant to be together

I'll be there and you'll be near

And that's the deal my dear

Thereover, hereunder

You'll never have to wonder

We can always play by ear

But that's the deal my dear
