|
|
Hello All,
Now that summer is in full swing, I would guess that people's HH is acting up more than the cooler months. I suffer from facial/cranial HH.
I have had some success with Avert 2mg. Sometimes I also use a 3% Secure Wipe on my forehead to go along with it, but this does give me a headache unfortunately.
Does anyone have any other successful treatments for facial/cranial HH that they would like to share?
Thanks! |

There's something called 'Hydrosal Gel' which might be worth a try. It contains aluminium chloride but it's suppost to penetrate the skin much better than the basic roll ons. It doesn't contain ethanol either which would cause irritation.

I have facial HH and I currently own Odaban, Hydrosal Gel and Sweat Stop Forte Plus Aloe Vera.
I recommend Hydrosal Gel to no end! It's reliable and easy to use with minimal irritation. The gel doesn't last as long as Odaban, because I guess it's easier to use more with no counter-effectiveness. It also costs a bit more, but it does the job! I've only really sweated a few times recently (after a period of a month or so without sweating) because I decided to switch back to Odaban.. I guess I put too much on or didn't put enough. Sweat-Stop was a waste of money!
All in all, Hydrosal Gel is definitely the one! I really couldn't recommend it any more highly - no sweating, no headaches, no dry mouth etc.. it's worth it
I can't compare it with Avert or Secure Wipes as I've never used either of them. |

| Avert 2mg on an empty stomach has helped me a great deal with facial sweating. |

sounds good! How much does it cost? Any side effects? Is it cost effective - how long does the pack last for? Sorry for all the questions! I just like hearing about new treatments :-p
I go to work by train in London, that's going to be hell when it starts getting hot! I need to be well prepared :-p |

|
|
Does anyone find that facial sweating sometimes brings on a Panic Attack?
This happens to me, but not every time. I usually sweat alot of my face if I am doing something strenuous. But I can break out into a panic attack if I start sweating in a social situation because I am building up anxiety in my mind that I might sweat. This leads to a vicious cycle. However, Avert and the Secure Wipes have really come in handy to help with this problem.
Thanks for any input. |

I'm the same! It can be quite hot and I won't sweat, but when I go into a social situation it starts coming. Thanks to my Hydrosal, the sweat is nowhere near as obvious as it could be and this helps me stop it as I don't get as nervous about it. Today I started a new job and I felt myself starting to sweat a few times so I just took a few seconds out to breathe deeply and regulate my body, which worked well.
I wouldn't refer to it as a panic attack per se, instead I'd say that mine is just mildly increased anxiety |

any success with your facial sweating issues?? I suffer from the same thing especially now in nervous/work & now social situations. It mainly starts around my forehead but can spread easily to the rest of my face within minutes.
I know its anxiety related but I just want something to prevent the sweating/or at least the visibility of the sweat. Its getting embarrassing
any one in the same boat with ideas/things that have worked???
thanks |

I myself have facial sweating.
I ordered Avert 2mg from pharmacy.ca around Jan, 2007. I ordered the Trial Size (which comes with 30 capsules), and it has an expiry Date: Apr 16, 2007.
Used when I went to some job interviews, it really helped. But a couple of things I would like to mention:
- Seem like it takes at least an hour to start working in my body, and I certainly know when it works: my throat starts getting dry. Once in an interview, the guy have me work on a technical problem on the white board, and when I got it done after 20 minutes and try to start explaining my solution, I found that I couldn't speak! (my throat was too dry). After that I would bring at least 2 bottles of water with me whenever I took Avert.
- every time I take Avert 2mg (I only do so when I go interview), the whole day my upper body experience extraordinary dryness. I had to put lotions on my hand, face or else they will feel hurt. Also, again the throat is very dry, and I had to keep drinking water whole day long.
- I tried to open the capsules myself and throw half of the powder away before taking it. The effect is unpredictable. Once it delays the effect from starting (took 2 hours to start working). Once it seem to have a reduced effect in my body, I got a little bit of sweat (instead of none at all), but my throat didn't hurt as much and the rest of my body felt more comfortable.
My Trail size is about to run out, 30 capsules of 2mg last 1.5 years for me since I didn't use it very often! (by the way, they are still working for me after the expiration day ) I'm thinking to order Avert 1.0mg (100 capsules) this time, because the 2mg seem too strong for me.
I'd also tried "Maxim anti-perspirant" (both roll-on and wipes), they didn't seem to work for me, only cause irritation on my skin. |
